Westminster has been the seat of British power for over a thousand years. The Palace of Westminster, modern-day home of the UK parliament, was built on the site of an Anglo-Saxon church from the 8th century, and the area surrounding it has similarly old roots. Westminster Abbey was first built by the last Anglo-Saxon monarch in 1065, but has been redeveloped over the years and has characteristics of Gothic, Baroque, and Romanesque architecture, a mix worthy of Britain.
On this excursion, you will have a guided walking tour of Westminster, home to the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.
